Petrolimex, the country’s biggest importer and trader of oil products, raised its pump prices for gasoline by 1.3 percent on Monday, the fourth hike this year.With the latest adjustment, starting at 8 p.m. June 23, popular 92-octane (92 RON) gasoline is now priced at VND25,230 per liter (US$1.17) and 95-octane (95 RON) gasoline at VND25,730 per liter ($1.19).
The company also increased kerosene’s price to VND22,540 ($1.04) per
liter, a rise of 0.75 percent, and that of mazut by 1.4 percent to
VND18,860 ($0.87) per kilogram.
In the meantime, the retail price of diesel remains VND22,480 ($1.04) per liter.
The first fuel hike this year occurred in February; the last were put in place on April 22 bringing Petrolimex’s retail price for 92 RON to VND24,900 ($1.1) per liter, the highest-ever.
Last year Vietnam’s fuel prices saw five hikes and six cuts.
