Vietnam keen on developing ties with Myanmar: Party chief

General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Nguyen Phu Trong has affirmed Vietnam’s constant policy of attaching much importance to developing and expanding the multi-faceted cooperation with Myanmar.

Meeting with Speaker of the Assembly of the Union of Myanmar Thura U Shwe Mann in Hanoi on September 6, the Party chief expressed hope that the two sides will promote their partnership in all fields, from politics and economics to culture and people-to-people contacts, and via all channels including parliament, government and ruling party.

The CPV is willing to share its experience on Party building, economic development and state management with the ruling Union Solidarity and Development Party (USDP) of Myanmar, he stressed.

He said he wishes that the relationship between the two Parties and States will further develop for the benefit of both peoples as well as for peace, stability in the Southeast Asian region and the world.

For his part, Speaker Thura U Shwe Mann spoke highly of the collaboration between the CPV and the USDP, expressing hope that the two parties will strengthen their relations through delegation exchanges and experience sharing.
